Experts from Ubuy Canada conducted research to identify the top locations where Americans seek to relocate. Google Keyword Planner was used to collect the necessary data by calculating “move to + country” search results and all its variations. In addition, Google Trends was used to explore the trend’s popularity compared to this time last year. The research also offers information on the global safety rankings of each country and their cost of living in comparison with the USA.

Canada tops the list of top destinations for Americans seeking to relocate, with 85K individuals wanting to settle in this country. Canada is 10.75 times safer than the US. In addition, the cost of living is 18% lower in Canada, which must be very appealing to most Americans.

New Zealand takes the second spot, with 19K Americans expressing a desire to move to this English-speaking country. New Zealand is the 2nd safest country in the world and its cost of living is 19% lower compared to the US.

Australia claims the third place on the list of top destinations for Americans seeking to relocate, with 18.7K searches. Australia is almost 5 times safer and has a 5% lower cost of living than the US.

Spain ranks fourth on the list, with 18K Americans looking to move here. Spain is ranked 4 times higher than the US in the Global Safety Rankings, and its cost of living is nearly 23% lower than the cost of living in the United States.

Portugal takes the fifth spot on the list of top destinations for Americans seeking to relocate with 17K searches. It is considered the 6th safest country in the world, and its cost of living is 30% lower than in the US.

Germany claims the sixth place on the list, with 12K people wanting to move to this European country. Americans' interest in Germany has increased by 3% since last year, which can be due to the lower cost of living by about 30% or the fact that Germany is 11 times safer than the US.

Mexico takes the seventh spot on the list of top destinations for Americans seeking to relocate, with 11.7K Americans expressing a desire to relocate here. The cost of living in Mexico is 61% lower than in the US, but it's worth noting that it's the only country on the list ranked lower than the US in safety.

The Netherlands ranks eighth on the list with 11K searches. The cost of living in this lovely European country is 20% lower than in the US, and it ranks 6 times higher on the Global Safety Rankings.

Bali takes the 9th spot on the list of top destinations for Americans seeking to relocate with 5K searches. The interest in this beautiful island has increased among Americans by 3% since last year. The cost of living in Bali is 46% lower than in the US, and Indonesia is 2.7 times safer than the US.

Greece holds the final spot on the list, with 4K individuals showing an interest in moving here, 6% higher than this time last year. The cost of living in Greece is 18% lower than in the US, and it is considered the 55th safest country globally.
